Some mattress stores price their mattresses based on the inch.  (The thicker, the more it cost).  They don’t tell you what is on the inside.  Mostly because either they don’t want you comparing their pricing and components with other stores.  They hope that you don’t know anything about mattress construction.

Those mattress stores hope that you buy for other reasons such as “How thick is the mattress”.   (Anything to get you away from what should be the real focus):  MATTRESS CONSTRUCTION!
